WordPress to Patheos, What’s Happenin’

Dear Friends:

Moving a blog is a little bit like moving to a new house. There’s a lot more to it than you thought when you bought the thing.

Public Catholic Patheos will have its formal debut next Monday. I’m going to start publishing posts at Public Catholic Patheos before that. In fact, I plan to start in the next day or so. I hope you come over and look at things and give me feed-back.

My understanding is that if you come to the old Public Catholic site you will be re-directed to the new one, but that this won’t happen until everything is up and running on Patheos. Let me know if/when this starts working.

In the meantime, the site, which will be all-singing, all-dancing in a couple of days, can be found at http://www.patheos.com/blogs/publiccatholic/. We’re still polishing the rough edges, but go over, have a look and tell me what you think. I welcome your feedback.

In Christ,

PS: Be sure to add that link to your bookmarks so you can find me later! You can also get Public Catholic Patheos by rss feed and a number of other methods that are on the site.

  1. Im liking the layout so far.

    1. Thank you for the feedback!

  2. Yes, I like the layout. Thanks for the update, Rebecca. I read Fr. Longenecker on Patheos, so I’ve been looking out for you there – good to know how it is going.

  3. It looks good. Your list of accomplishments is impressive. It almost makes me want to move to Oklahoma, If I didn’t love Arkansas so much.

    1. Maybe I should move to Arkansas! Is it any cooler there?

  4. I am very excited about this change! I get a very positive feeling about it. I have signed up for the subscription at the webpage. Good luck, and God bless you and your work as He works through you.

    1. Thank you Lily! That means a lot to me.

  5. Thanks for the update.

  6. Thanks for the update. The new site looks nice. Question: Is this your last post at this site? Just asking so I know when to change the URL for your listing on my blogroll.

    1. It’s probably my last post here. In fact, I’m going to sit down and write something for the new site later today. (Wish me luck my friend!)

      1. Good luck! 😀

But I’m sure you’ll do just fine.

  7. Thanks so much for posting a link. I’ve checked it out and it looks polished & professional! I have subscribed via e-mail by signing up on the subscribe button on the about page. Lookin’ good… ~ Wendy

    1. Thank you so much. I think it looks good, too, but I’m not good at judging visual stuff.

Hello Rebecca! What’s the reason for the change? I am just curious.

    1. Hi Noel! I am making the change in hopes that it will bring a wider reach to the things I’m saying. I talk about it in more detail in WordPress to Patheos. Oh My! down below this post. Do you like the new site, btw?

I certainly do! And I will be making my regular visits as usual. God blesses

    Looking good! 😉

Looks good. Just checked it out. But considering how bad I am with this techno stuff, I’ll keep this post for awhile so I know where you’ve gone to.

    1. Actually, I’m hanging onto the link myself, for the same reason. Big duhhhhh factor here.

  11. First thing I notice is a lot of ads and irritating pop-ups–not all related to subjects I think you want addressed on your blog. No one else has mentioned them–I see “ads not at this site” on my blog and Facebook page, too, some even pornographic, which apparently no visitors to my site can see, so maybe it’s not a problem with your site; maybe something attached to mine. I have to keep going to Tools and clearing out my “cookies.” Hope your site is clear of these to every one else who visits it.

    1. There are ads on the site. I didn’t know about pop-ups. I was able to request certain parameters about the ads. For instance, I asked that the be “G” rated. Let me know about this in the future as I don’t get them on my computer; probably something about the administrator thing.

  12. I’ll be watching for the change 🙂
