Supreme Court grants victory to President Obama, upholding constitutionality of 2010 healthcare law.
The Court has spoken. The HHS Mandate stands, at least so far. An enormous number of lawsuits against the Mandate are wending their way through the courts. For those of us who oppose this Mandate, the message is simple and clear: Game On!

Ah, Rebecca, I wish I had any confidence left in the courts, or the national Republicans, Maybe I’m wrong but, I no longer see any limits to the Federal government.
I know. But we have to fight on. As Lincoln said, “The war is forced on us.”
I agree, just sometimes it’s difficult. Thank God for friends like you. And it may well be the singular thing that defeats Obama.

Seems a very close decision, and hard not to see the politics in it – the Clinton and Obama nominees voted party line – that’s how it looks from here. But yes, don’t lose heart and carry on the fight.
Jessica, that’s a very astute observation. The Court has become politicized and polarized like most else in America today. The 5/4 split you saw reflects the cultural biases of the justices themselves.
I am praying for your cause, and that right prevails. I know you will stay strong in Christ.

In his first TV interview as POTUS, Obama rejected the idea that this was a tax – now he seems happy to admit it was. Was he lying back then?
I don’t know about this interview. But he also said that he was opposed to same-sex marriage, AND he promised in writing that the Affordable Health Care Act would not force people to pay for abortions, AND he also promised the religious groups would be exempted from doing things that violate their teachings.
I am sure if you check you’ll find he did; another in a long list of broken promises. I have posted some prayerful thoughts for you and other faithful American Catholics on my blog.
